RAILWAY MODELLER JUNE 2020 Vol.71 No.836
On The Rails 2020
Owing to the continuing Coronavirus outbreak, which has suspended all heritage and tourist railway operations for the time being, we have postponed publication of our On The Rails guide to railway attractions, which is normally included free with the June issue. Please keep an eye on the website and our social media channels for an update on when it will appear.
Welshpool
Set in the early LMS period, this 7mm scale layout by Ralph Seymour combines the standard gauge Cambrian and GWR/LNWR lines with the narrow gauge Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway, recreating some classic views.
PLAN OF THE MONTH
Grimsby Blundell Park
An ideal town terminus plan, devised and built by Ian Clark. Grimsby Blundell Park depicts a ‘just supposing’ situation in which the Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway stopped in the famous fishing port, rather than continue its tracks onto the promenade at Cleethorpes.
SCALE DRAWINGS
Seaton station
The Southern Railway’s distinctive ‘Nouveau’ concrete architecture showed itself at the end of the branch to this Devon resort in the form of a rebuilt structure from the 1930s. Steve Flint and Callum Willcox examine this building, the one-time local station of Railway Modeller, with drawings by Steve Croucher.
