Tom Kirtley ventures back to pre-war times with this salute to the LNER in OO gauge. Wenfleet station represents a busy junction in South Yorkshire.
PLAN OF THE MONTH
The station serving this Ayrshire coastal resort is much rationalised and served by electric trains; its steam-age heyday, excursion trains and all, is studied by Stewart Clinton as a basis for a new layout project.
Cuckoo Junction Signal Box
This quaintly-named Midland & Great Northern Joint structure guarded a road crossing and one end of the company's Spalding avoiding line. Historical notes by Tim Rayner; drawings by Steve Croucher, from originals produced by Christopher Pamer.

Great Western pannier tanks provide an ideal project for the determined beginner; Tony Wright shows how with this construction of a former Nu-Cast whitemetal kit in 4mm scale, now revamped by South Eastern Finecast.

The Spirit of Shap in OO
A tribute to the West Coast Main Line crossing of the Westmorland fells by Graham Nicholas, set in the last full year of BR steam and which made a spectacular debut at Warley 2017.
Industrial Loco Parade
A mix of O gauge steam and diesel locomotives as found on Royd Hall Drift Mine by Dave Hall (see last month), with a quick history lesson thrown in.
Kevin Robertson, the current custodian, reveals whatever happened to this O gauge branch terminus, originally built by David Yule, on its return to the exhibition scene after prolonged periods in storage.
Les Nehrlich was inspired to model this N gauge layout by the former Cambrian Railways. Parts of it have been refurbished after many years in storage.
Project of the Month
Craig Tiley embarks on a new layout project - a small north of England freight-only terminus showcasing the recently-released Peco bullhead code 75 plain line and pointwork from this renowned Devon-based manufacturer.
A secluded Ffestiniog Railway request stop on the Porthmadog side of Tan-y-Bwlch, modelled in OO9 by Jon Potter as a stage on which to show off his extensive model collection of the FR's home-based locos and stock, plus those which have visited the Welsh gem.
