Wenfleet
Tom Kirtley ventures back to pre-war times with this salute to the LNER in OO gauge. Wenfleet station represents a busy junction in South Yorkshire.

The station serving this Ayrshire coastal resort is much rationalised and served by electric trains; its steam-age heyday, excursion trains and all, is studied by Stewart Clinton as a basis for a new layout project.

Great Western pannier tanks provide an ideal project for the determined beginner; Tony Wright shows how with this construction of a former Nu-Cast whitemetal kit in 4mm scale, now revamped by South Eastern Finecast.

Hemyock
Latterly kept alive by milk traffic, the terminus of the Culm Valley Light Railway in mid-Devon has been modelled in 4mm scale by Chris Lamacraft.

Coalville Crossing
A freight-orientated Midlands scheme employing two decks, recreating the heavy coal traffic which flowed through this unprepossessing Leicestershire town. It was designed by Ian Stock in his preferred N gauge.

An NER-style elevated signal box
The North Eastern Railway built distinctive over-track signal boxes along the Newcastle to Carlisle line, and elements of several (chiefly Wylam) were used to create a 1:148 scale replica, as Peter Brown explains.

Medehampton
The essence of the East Coast Main Line in the Peterborough area in the glory years, distilled to OO gauge by Graham Hobbs. This is the principal section of his layout, the other half of which appeared in last month’s issue.

Toby Nanson decided to create a small-space OO gauge layout depicting a modern-day Locomotive Inspection Point, on which to run his DCC Sound fitted models.

A long-closed wayside station on the former Leeds Northern main line, drawn and described respectively by Jim Hay and Tim Rayner.

Return to Calcutta Sidings
Phil Eames undertook many changes to this 4mm scale recreation of Burton’s railways in the 1988 – 1991 period; some major (doubling the length to 40') and others minor (changing from EM to P4). Modelling the brewery industry hereabouts meant modelling barrels – lots and lots of barrels!

The Amlwch branch
Prolific layout builder Rob Ogden makes a return to O gauge modelling with this take on the Anglesey terminus in the late BR steam era. The project was introduced in the January 2019 issue.

This Essex station marks the junction between the former Great Eastern Railway main line - which runs north-east from London to Suffolk and Norfolk - and the branch to Sudbury. Ian Stock considers its potential for modelling, both in the present day and the 1960s.
