Ferry Open Wagon BR 'Hybar'
Built in 1957, this small fleet of open wagons were design specifically for the movement of consignments to and from the continent by the channel train ferry. Allocated to the Southern Region, they featured an adjustable bar that supported a tarpaulin. On our model the bar is included, and can be removed as required, as was done on the real wagons when they were eventually used for internal traffic. Our model faithfully replicates the bauxite livery and all the various markings as per the prototype, including the corner flashes in black and white. All Peco wagons feature free running wheels in pin point axles. The ELC coupling, whilst compatible with the standard N gauge couplings, keeps a realistic distance between the vehicles and enables the PL-25 electro magnetic decoupler to be used for remote uncoupling.
An introduction to 009 Modelling
This handy guide to narrow gauge modelling includes an overview of British narrow gauge history. It explains the basics of the 009 scale and includes 5 layout plans based on prototype locations, an overview of the ready to run items currently available and some helpful hints on kit building locomotive and rolling stock kits.
The Peco 'Shows You How' series of booklets give practical, clearly laid out information and instruction on a wide range of model railway topics.
OO-9/HOe Setrack Planbook
This book features six layout plans with varied themes to get you started on your journey into narrow gauge modelling, ranging from simple yet satisfying projects utilising the contents of the ST-400 Peco Setrack OO-9 Starter Track Set, through to more elaborate designs that combine components from both the Peco Setrack and Streamline track systems. The plans in this book have been skilfully designed and illustrated by James Hilton, an experienced modeller and narrow gauge enthusiast. 16 fully illustrated pages including complete parts lists and modelling techniques.
