Rails of Sheffield & Locomotion Models have received the production samples of their forthcoming South Eastern & Chatham Railway D Class 4-4-0 locomotives, produced in partnership with Dapol, plans of which were first announced our December 2020 issue.
Seven liveries are being produced, showcasing the D Class locomotives long service service history from their introduction with in 1901 to the last withdrawal under British Railway 1956, with each model taking into account alterations made over their careers.
Examples of all seven versions have been received from the Dapol production line, following final approval, shipping from the factory will commence.
Prices start from £189.99 for unlined liveries, these include SECR Grey (with scraped beading), Southern black and BRITISH RAILWAYS black with sunshine letting, while more decorative liveries such as SE&CR Green, Southern Railway Maunsell Olive green and BR lined black are confirmed at £199.99.
A DCC sound upgrade package will also available, which offers factory installed DCC sound decoder along with two speakers (a sugar cube speaker in the locomotive and a bass reflex speaker in the tender) - priced at £125.00.
