Railway Modeller was declared the winner in the Magazine - Special Interest category at the 2020 Newspaper and Magazine Association awards ceremony held on Thursday 16th July. The announcement was made via a special video streaming of the event which could not be convened as normal due to the health restrictions.
In summing up, the Judges, made up of leading figures from within the industry, congratulated Railway Modeller and all at Peco Publications for setting a fine example in difficult trading conditions. This long-established brand excelled at utilising new media channels such as the social platforms; gaining celebrity endorsement; achieving strong sales efficiencies, and regaining listings. A key example was the 90% sales efficiency on Rod Stewart issue – an efficiency unheard of in a hobby magazine.
