BACHMANN SPRING 2021 ANNOUNCEMENTS - British Rail Class 20/0 / Modified Hall / Scenecraft & more!

Wednesday 3rd February saw Bachmann announce the 1st quarterly announcement 2021. This month announcements saw a plethora of new liveries, as well modified and newly tooled items. 

Brachmann Branchline 

Following in the tracks of the soon to be released English Electric Class 20/3 (see our review in the forthcoming March 2021 issue of Railway Modeller), Bachmann have announced a fleet of newly tooled variants of the Class 20/0. 

The models will feature refined details, plus directional and cab lighting, as well accommodating for tooling differences that will allow for different members of the class to be modelled accurately, including lighting arrangements, buffers and bogie equalising beams. 

Liveries include D8015 BR Green, 20057 BR Blue & 20227 BR Railfreight (Red Stripe), which each version available DCC Ready or DCC Sound Fitted.

 

 

Two new versions of the GWR ‘Modified Hall’ 4-6-0 have also been announced, with the tooling rectified to feature the correct front end. The models depict No.6990 ‘Witherslack Hall’ in BR early lined green and No.6998 ‘Burton Agnes Hall’ BR late lined green.

The popular LMS 5XP ‘Jubilee’ 4-6-0 is also making a return to the range, as No.45604 ‘Ceylon’ eye-catch BRITISH RAILWAYS Experimental Green.

 

 

Bachmann have also added Sound Fitted versions of their soon to be released Class 20/3, plus the popular Class 24/1 & Class 121 DMUs to the range. 

009 Narrow Gauge

Bachmann Narrow Gauge has expanded its Sound Fitted range further this Spring with the reveal of five sound fitted Baldwin 10-12-D locomotives with factory fitted DCC Sound. Each model will feature a wide selection of sound functions, with motion, automatic and randomised sounds also operating on analogue control (DC) straight from the box.

Scenecraft

A wide range of buildings and accessories have joined the Scenecraft range in both OO & N. These include further additions the ‘Lucston and Wigmore’ range in OO featuring a number of quintessential buildings ideal for town and rural scenes. The range includes a selection of railway related structures, as well as charming farmhouse and Oast House.

Furthermore, popular North Yorkshire Moors buildings like the North Eastern Railway Station and iconic Goathland Garage also feature in the range, lending plenty of scope for a NYMR inspired layout.
