Tuesday 4th August 2020 saw Bachmann announce the 3rd instalment of their new quarterly range release schedule. This month announcements saw a plethora of new liveries in both the Graham Farish and Bachmann Branchline ranges, including a wide selection of N Scale Scenecraft Builds.
By far the biggest announcement however, was the addition of an all-new brand – EFE Rail. The range is in collaboration with third parties, including Heljan and Kernow Model Rail Centre, with the aim to make these products accessible via Bachmann Europe Stockists.
The flag ship of this totally new range is a new motorised version of the popular EFE 1:76 scale (00) London Underground 1938 Tube Stock finished in 1960s Northern Line maroon livery.
Kernow Model Rail Centre's popular (00) JIA Nacco and PBA Tiger Wagons are also set to be released in a variety of liveries and weathered finishes.
Releases from the Heljan range include a four Class 35 ‘Hymek’ in selection of exclusive liveries to the EFE Rail range.
In addition to models from Kernow and Heljan, a number of ex DJmodel products join the range. These in including six J94 'Austerity' Saddle Tanks, which have been reengineered by Kernow to feature a new coreless motor and NEXT18 pin DCC socket.
N scale modellers are treated with the addition of the British Rail Class 17 'Clayton'. 11 liveries are planned for release and are due with retailers in the next few weeks! These models will feature;
- Next18 DCC Decoder Socket – easily-accessed by unclipping the fuel tank
- Directional Lighting
- NEM Coupling Pockets
- Comprehensive Accessory Pack including full buffer-beam pipework and plug-in snowploughs
Rounding off the announcements is the 14T ‘Mermaid’ Side Tipping Ballast Wagon in N. Initial releases will include four different British Rail departmental liveries.
