OO/HO West Bay Station Building
The NEW Laser-Cut West Bay OO Station Building
PECO is happy to present one of its new laser-cut station buildings, along with detailed interior that can be removed and re-inserted, to add lighting and other detail. This is a typical stone-built branch line station building, in this case based in West Bay in Dorset. The prototype was opened in 1984 as the new terminus of the extended Bridport railway, operated initially by the Great Western Railway and from 1948, British Railways Western region. It closed in 1962, but the building has been renovated and is now in use as a lounge bar and waiting room for a restaurant on adjoining carriages, called the Station Kitchen.
This kit comes with some plastic components to complete the model and includes a full interior detail, which can be removed to add LED lighting should this be required.

As with the PECO Streamline track system we use the unique double-foot Code 55 rail for robustness, and also for the finer appearance of the track. This means that both Setrack and Streamline can be connected together. We have started with just the one radius, no. 2, at 310mm/12.2in., and the length of the medium radius Streamline turnout (SLU1295 and SLU1296) is the same as one standard and one small straight section. That will allow a siding to be inserted into a loop of the Setrack using the Streamline turnout without upsetting the geometry. Modellers should use the PL82 Pecolectrics Power Feed Joiners to connect power to the track: the joiners at one end of two pieces of track can easily be pulled off to allow the Power Feed Joiners to connect up. All Setrack products are supplied in hanging packs containing either 4 or 8 pieces and sold to you in singles.

OO/HO/OO-9 Corrugated Engine Shed Lasercut Kit
Based on the buildings at the Ffestiniog Railway Boston Lodge base in Porthmadog, North Wales, these two new kits perfectly complement our OO-9 scale rolling stock, and of course, the Small and Large Engine locomotives. Produced from fine plywood sheets the kits feature some very exquisite texture detailing replicating either the stone or corrugated iron finish. Both kits include some interior detail such as roof bracing.
The corrugated iron building, LK220, which at Boston Lodge sits alongside the older stone building, is a simpler single-track structure but again can also be built single or double-ended and with or without the chimneys. Footprint 167 x 64mm.
OO/HO/OO-9 Two Road Engine Shed Lasercut Kit

The stone engine shed kit LK219 has two alternative roofs, depending on whether the modeller wishes to use the chimneys and roof vents, and this kit also includes a separate and authentic FR disc signal. The shed can also be built single or double-ended. Footprint 167 x 97mm.
Ballast & Scenery Glue
It is important to note that the PECO Tools PT30 is specially formulated to be applied to dry ballast, and requires a particular technique for application to ensure successful results.
Once the track has been laid, the ballast is firmed around the sleepers, ensuring that it neatly settles in and does not interfere with any moving parts. Once the desired effect has been achieved the modeller then applies the glue, using a glue applicator such as a pipette or syringe, along the centre line of the track, between the rails. Further applications of the glue are then made outside of the rails, and along the shoulder, but in all instances what you don't need to do is to saturate the track and ballast, as is often the case with other types of glue. It's more of a case of "Precision Gluing"! It is a thicker glue than the watered-down PVA often used, so will first sit on top of the ballast. But over time it will disperse within the ballast particles and reach outwards towards the ballast shoulder. After a minimum period of 24 hours the glue will have dried and hardened, fixing the ballast firmly in place, although it is possible that some small areas may need further glue application where necessary.
The attraction of this glue is that it is ready-made, not needing to be mixed, watered-down, or have additional additives put in such as washing up liquid. It comes in a convenient and handy 500ml bottle with a screw top, supplied in singles and available now from stock.
Hudson Rugga V-Skips (Green)
The familiar Rugga V-Skip 'tipping' wagon design was introduced in the 1930s - a development of the Robert Hudson company, based in Leeds. They could be supplied to the customer's specific requirements, with a skip size ranging from 13.5 to 54 cubic feet (0.38 to 1.53 cubic metres), and in most track gauges. The design allows the skip to tip in either direction, perfect for small industrial railways that needed to move and unload materials quickly and efficiently. The company even boasted that at any one time several thousand could be supplied from stock! These are supplied in an attractive display box of three.

OO/HO Small Radius Y Turnout, Unifrog
The NEW Unifrog Conversion
The latest conversion to Unifrog is now available. This time we have updated the Streamline OO/HO scale Code 100 Small Radius "Y" turnout to conform to this new format. Produced from brand new tooling this replaced the former Insulfrog and Electrofrog SL-97 and SL-E97 (both of these are now discontinued and out of stock).
Y Turnouts are really useful track components - their main benefit being as great space-savers. By combining the Y with the short crossing you can create a tight radius double junction and using several Ys together allows you to fit more routes in a restricted space. Ideal when building small loco yards and goods sidings. It's what the real railways would have done after all!
The Unifrog Conversion
On a Unifrog turnout the frog tip and wing rails are electrically isolated from all other rails. The turnout can be used as supplied on a DC or DCC layout without any modification, using the standard SL-10 rail joiner. If desired, the frog tip and wing rails can be powered by connecting the wire welded underneath to a changeover switch or microswitch working in unison with one of our turnout motors. Basically, as supplied the turnout operates as an Insulfrog turnout. If the frog is powered then it operates as an Electrofrog turnout. So, the best of both worlds in one unit!

We have all seen these houses - they are all over the UK, forming a familiar feature in virtually every town and city.
There are 3 kits available: Low-relief Fronts & Backs, and the Full Building Kit. Easy and satisfying to build, the laser-cut detail is extremely fine, with wonderful brick and tile textures on the surface. The models also feature guttering and downpipes, a separate porch at the front and blinds in the windows, which can be positioned as desired. Once built the models can be painted to reflect the modeller's individual choice.

Tan-Y-Bwlch Wooden Station Building
This attractive, single-story laser-cut wooden building, perfectly complements the current PECO Great Little Trains series of Ffestiniog Railways rolling stock, as well as the new arrival of the latest batch of Small & Large England locomotives, which will be keeping the Ffestiniog Railway at the forefront of many modellers' minds at the moment.
These laser-cut kits feature some very fine detailing, such as the combination of textured slate and shingle-type roof tiles, as well as the ribbed walls - replicating the authentic and rustic nature of the building. It may be a model of a specific location but this does not restrict its appeal. This building would also be ideal to represent a village hall, cricket pavilion, scout hut, or other country-style building.
The kit includes a separate and distinct double-armed semaphore, (as per the location), adding appeal to an already attractive model.

HAA TOPS BR Railfreight - Red Cradle
In August 2023 DB Cargo retired the last of the former BR/ECC china clay CDA hoppers after a service life of 35 years. These unique and distinctive wagons will be missed by enthusiasts but thanks to PECO, modellers can keep their legacy going in model form!
Note that the CDA wagons are now fitted with metal-tyred wheels as standard.
The CDA China Clay hopper, and the HAA Coal Hopper, are closely related, sharing the same design and operational principles, with bottom hopper doors opened to empty the contents, in the case of china clay, for loading into ships at Carne Point, near Fowey in Cornwall. 7-Plank Open Wagon, Huntley & Palmers, No. 24
Another new arrival into stock is this attractive 7 plank open wagon - Huntley & Palmers, based in Reading, Berkshire, was a well-known biscuit manufacturer that used these wagons to bring coal into their factory. Famous brand names sell model wagons, so you should do well with this one.
Being new tooling you can expect a step up on detail: crisply moulded parts, thinner walls to the body, correct 9 foot wheelbase, detachable couplings and metal-tyred wheels for free running.

Alongside almost any railway there will be houses, and in model form it will be the low-relief buildings that will be of particular interest to modellers, especially as a feature along the backscene. We have been working hard to develop a new range of low-relief house fronts and backs, as well as the full building and we start off here with a typical semi-detached brick house typical of the Victorian period in Britain. You will be familiar with this style of house as they are still everywhere in the UK!
Our kits have been carefully designed for ease of assembly and feature some lovely detail. The texture of the laser-cut surface replicates the brick courses and slate tiles perfectly. Detailing around the windows and doors and the inclusion of guttering and downpipes is noteworthy, as are the curtains in the window and the provision of additional dormers (house backs kit) and bay windows (house front kit), plus the optional pavement around the base. The dormers, bay windows and pavement are included in the LK-208 full house kit too!
Several kits can be combined to create a terrace of houses, so commonly seen in locations around the country in relation to the railways. A row of house backs alongside the railway and against the backscene, a row of house fronts high on a hill above the station, or a street of semi-detached houses in a town scene, the possibilities are endless! The kits will need painting so the modeller can personalise each one, so necessary when you create a terrace of buildings. No two houses would ever be the same. Acrylic paints are best. The 16 Ton Mineral Wagon here is the basic unfitted coal wagon, so typical and common a sight on Britain's railways during the 1950s to 1980s. Now all gone with the demise of the coal industry. There would be rakes and rakes of these wagons trailing behind a locomotive throughout the UK, but most likely more so around the coalfields.

BR Iron Ore Tippler, Civil Engineers "Dutch"
Built in the 1950's these 35t GLW (Gross Laden Weight) wagons served the railways for many years transporting iron ore from British iron ore mines for steel production. As that traffic ended, so the wagons found plenty of other uses especially with the BR Civil Engineers department and many lasted into the 1980's as a result. This bauxite liveried example represents the wagon in its original brake-fitted condition, as opposed to the unbraked grey livery version, although to be fair it would never have been so clean! An ideal weathering project for the modeller!

The NEW West Highland Line Platform Shelter Laser-Cut Kit
The NEW West Highland laser-cut wood kits, all based on buildings on the existing West Highland Line extension between Fort William and Mallaig in Scotland. In fact Arisaig station was the inspiration for these attractive models, a delightful station on a very scenic and popular route, famous for many reasons but likely to be moist memorable for its role in the Harry Potter films. It is a route that has become a firm favourite with modellers so these kits will certainly be welcomed by many and be the inspiration for a number of new layout builds for sure.
Built by the North British Railway, the West Highland Line travelled through a stunning part of the country and soon became popular with tourists as well as providing an essential link to the outside world from the sparsely populated Highland areas. TT:120 C55 Flexible Track, Wooden Sleeper

Use SL-310 metal joiners and SL-1208 joining sleepers. Use SL-311 insulating joiners to create isolated track sections (if using DCC control these are not required).
One of the great advantages of TT:120 is that the 12mm gauge track correctly scales out as standard (4' 8.5") gauge, as used all over Britain's railway network. The ingenious rail section of PECO code 55 combines strength and durability with a highly realistic appearance – In TT:120 the visible height of the rail correctly represents 113lb flat bottom rail. The flexible sleeper base is detailed with fine wood grain and spikes through British Railways’ BR1 baseplates under the rails, a combination that continues to be widely used on Britain’s railways.
Flexi Loco Lift - Double Unit
Double unit loco lift. Designed as a replacement for the old SL-43 Loco Lift, this new versatile system still has the features that made the SL-43 so popular, such as the ability to directly drive the locomotive on and off the track. But that was limited to OO/HO scale and this new system has been developed to adapt to all scales from N through to EM, including OO-9 (HOe), HOn3, TT, HOm and OO/HO.
