Rails of Sheffield / Locomotion Models - D Class Livery Samples Received

Rails of Sheffield & Locomotion Models have received the first livery samples of their forthcoming South Eastern & Chatham Railway D Class 4-4-0 locomotives, produced in partnership with Dapol. 

Seven liveries are been produced which showcasing the D Class locomotives long service service history from their introduction with in 1901 to the last withdrawal under British Railway 1956, with each model taking into account alterations made over their careers.

Liveries as shown are; 

South Eastern & Chatham Railway No. 737 NRM as Preserved in full livery with semi-gloss finish (Locomotion Models Exclusive)


South Eastern & Chatham Railway No. 488 in SECR livery with silk finish


South Eastern & Chatham Railway No. 726 in wartime grey livery with scraped beading


Southern Railway No. 1730 in lined Maunsell olive green livery


Southern Railway No. 1734 in black livery with sunshine lettering


British Railways No. 31731 in black livery with sunshine BRITISH RAILWAYS lettering


British Railways No. 32574 in black with early crest

Naturally being the first livery samples alterations have been identified during the evaluation process, which will be corrected before moving into the production stage.

The models will be fitted with a NEXT 18 decoder interface, which will be accessed by removing the smokebox door; allowing for easy access for DCC or DCC Sound installation. The coal load in the tender will also be removable to reveal a fully detailed tender interior.
