November 2026 Vol.77 No.913
There's something a little different in the November 2026 issue of Railway Modeller: the launch of a set of Wallace & Gromit-themed wagons in OO9 by Peco, licensed by Aardman Animations Limited, which are the lead items in the review pages. These celebrate the 50th anniversary of Aardman, and to further mark the occasion, editor Craig Tiley takes a look behind the scenes at the various railway sequences in the Wallace & Gromit films, and other stop motion animations that the studio has produced. Other new models reviewed are the Midland Railway/Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway Class '483' 4-4-0 in OO from Rapido Trains UK, and the twin pack depicting Flying Scotsman and Pendennis Castle during their famous meeting in Australia in 1989, in OO gauge from Hornby. Railway of the Month is Chapel Lane, an O gauge locomotive shed layout representing the Edwardian railway scene in Derby. Other layouts featured include Westbourne (the first layout in the recently introduced TT:120 scale to appear in Railway Modeller), Rockport (an OO gauge model depicting a fictional Manchester suburb in the late 1980s) and Tamerton Foliot, which takes the name of a real place but rewrites history to give it a narrow gauge light railway, modelled in OO9. As a follow-up to our article in the August issue featuring Totnes, the spectacular N gauge layout by the late John Birkett-Smith, Jerry Clifford showcases some of its locomotives, while Callum Willcox shows how to detail, weather and enhance locomotives and rolling stock in TT:120 scale.
