Scotland's premier model shop, now the home of PECO retail.
Harburn Hobbies has been at the heart of Scottish modelling since the 1930s. Established in Leith and a fixture on Edinburgh's Elm Row for generations, it joined the PECO family in 2025, bringing together one of the UK's best-loved model shops and the hobby's most trusted manufacturer. Today Harburn Hobbies is the home of PECO retail, in store in Edinburgh and Beer, and online at harburnhobbies.co.uk.

An Edinburgh institution
Founded in the 1930s, Harburn Hobbies grew into Scotland's premier model retailer, welcoming modellers from across the country and around the world. Under the long ownership of Bob and Gill Baird the shop earned a reputation for deep stock, fair prices and advice you could trust. Following their retirement, Harburn became part of the PECO family in the spring of 2025, opening a new chapter for a much-loved institution.
"Harburn Hobbies shares everything PECO stands for: expertise, service and a genuine love of the hobby. Bringing it into the family was a natural step."

The famous shop on Elm Row
You will find us at 67 Elm Row on Edinburgh's historic Leith Walk, ten minutes from Princes Street and Waverley Station, with the McDonald Road tram stop right outside the door. Inside is everything the modeller could want, from the complete PECO range to locomotives, rolling stock, kits and scenery, all backed by staff who know the hobby inside out.

At the home of PECO
Our second shop sits at PECO headquarters in Beer, Devon, where it has welcomed visitors since 1975. Browse the full manufactured range at its source, pick up expert advice and combine your visit with a trip along the Jurassic Coast.
